51.2x70.9 in ~ Painting, Oil
The longer you look at an object, the more abstract it becomes, and, ironically, the more real.” Lucian Freud.
My collection of conspirators are full of mischief and secrecy. Each character is always up to something naughty or scheming a dodgy deal, "I want a desperado feel to it, moody as if they have something to hide, I want them anxious, so you get those staring menacing eyes".
In this oil painting, I weave together figurative grace with a dash of surrealism to capture the dynamic essence of a diverse group intently focused around a pivotal figure. The whimsical distortion of reality emphasizes the intense scrutiny and expectation charged in the air—each character's eyes telling their own story, adding intrigue and an enchanting enigma that lingers in the space where it is displayed.
