A review of my Lovers
I have just seen ‘The Lovers’ on Artfinder, and it is absolutely magnificent! I have no words at the moment to express just how much I like it. I see a style developing here which is very attractive and compelling. You know when you look at a Monet, and the style is instantly recognisable as a Monet before you even see the signature? We recognise the same style as Van Gogh, Rembrandt, or Lucien Freud. I think pretty soon people will see one of your paintings and, without looking at the signature, will be able to say: ‘That’s a Ta instantly!’
In this oil painting, I've explored the rhythmic grace of ballet through abstract and impressionistic forms. The dancers, merged in an intimate and dynamic embrace, symbolise unity and passion. Geometric fragments and sweeping blues imply movement and emotional depth, inviting viewers into a balletic narrative frozen in time but alive with emotion. This artwork, woven with vigour and tenderness, will infuse any space with the elegance and spirited essence of dance.
